There's a reason for that. My buddy with a CJ called me up a few weeks ago and asked me what I thought about him putting Toyota axles under his Heep. Needless to say he's putting Toy axles under his Heep! :brows:

If you are going to run J33P axels, they must be pre-87, because they put driverside drops on the front axels, when they brought in the small cherokee and the yjs.
The dana 30s are alot stronger than a zuk birfield. The issue with the cj axels are the rear 2 piece Model 20s. They are splined together and have a tendency to spin away quite easily. (the fix for this is 1-piece aftermarket axels)
If you can find a set of dana 44 J33P waggoneer diffs with flat top knuckles, that is a solid swap just as strong as stock toy diffs. (Mudlite is running those)

I can't find any around me. The only ones I have found have been well over $1000 asking price. I had a line on some on here, but not sure who it was and what we agreed upon a long time a go.:D
This is why I have been researching Dana axles.

find a set of wagoneer or Jtruck axles. some 70s J10s and wagoneers used the QTrack system, and will have an offset rear 44 that will work nicely with the zook case. You will want a front axle is older than 1980 if it is a ****.
For the little extra work I would choose a D44 front over the CJ D30. the M20, Is a pretty good rear once you get some 1 pc axles in it. (upgrade the cover too, theyre thin and easy to smash. )

You want a 78 or 79 front and rear Waggy axle if you can't find Toy axles.

The problem with the M20s are they are huge soup bowls, I think they have alot less clearance even over the dana 44. Some M20 came with 1-piece axels, not in the CJs, but in the waggies.
