In the spring I took a week's vacation to landscape around my driveway, and nursed the new grass for a month. It was awesome, completely changed how my driveway looks and my wife thought I was a superhero.

Last night the plow guy tore it all to ratshit.

I'd like to set up a small snow plow on my Samurai.

Here are my considerations:
- I only want to plow my driveway, so I'm looking for something light duty
- I want to be able to take it on & off easily, so I'm not driving all winter with a plow
- I have a small winch on my bumper, so I'd like to use that to lower & raise.
- I won't be going with a full size, hydraulic plow. I just won't, it doesn't make sense for what I need

I'm thinking about buying an ATV plow and using that. It's just about the size I'm looking for.

I'm curious to see if any of you have a plow on your sammies, and how you have them mounted.

Mounted a ATV plow on my 83'. Works very well but the plow needs to be wider (which isnt a problem with a welder i guess). I used the ATV mounting plate so the plow can be easily removed. Winch up front to raise and lower. Have to manually angle it.

I just plow my driveway and the back section of my property and this setup work very well as mentioned.

Hope that helps.

Zuklin, thanks for the link....that's exactly what I've been thinking of.

Where does it mount to the samurai? to the bumper or back on the frame?

I'd just mount it to the front axle. Easy to weld, they are not cast. We put one on a Toyota and welded the plow mounts to the leaf spring plates. Works mint.

Wouldn't that put unwanted added stress on the axle though:question:

Why not remove the bumper, add mounts, and remount the bumper(if needed)

Meh... sorry for the slow reply... I Mcgivr'd it and welded in some C-channel to the frame to create a drop'd platform for the atv mounting bracket to attach to. Its not pretty but functional... i will try and snap a few pics in the next few days if it helps.

I just finished mounting my ATV plow a couple of weeks ago ,I bolted square tube to the spring mounts that were there after I did the spring over . 4feet of tube to the plow harnest and it works well . My next thing is to rig up a salt shacker to the back ,so I don't have to spread it by hand
