I was trying to find out if the cable from the positive terminal to the starter was weak by using a jumper cable. (stupid me for using first thing in sight)Jumped inside the truck, started it and pulled off the cable. I may have managed to touch something with the positve when I pulled it off near the starter. Jumped back inside and I could smell something electrical. First thing I noticed is that I now have a full tank of fuel.:)
The main problem is my rear signals and brake lights don't work when the transmission is spinning. 1st to 5th while T-case is in neutral, or when driving.
Everything works fine when tcase is in gear and transmission is in neutral.
The odd thing is that it does this even though the connections are unplugged to the tranny and t-case.
What could it be?
Thanks

Try checking the small ground wire going from the negative battery terminal to the body.

Yes, I've checked that. It's good unfortunately. Too many damn wires. Something mechanical I can deal with, but electrical.....
Can a solonoid cause this kind of problem, or do they just quit working?
Thanks.

u smoked a section of ur wiring harness. sammy wiring harnesses for the fuel and rear lites run out the firewall on the drivers side i think.. across the top of the firewall, down the tranny tunnel opening and then rite down to the back picking up ur tranny, t-case, fuel and all rear lites. Im betting u burned a piece or a big chunck of that harness

but while ur hunting, check out not only ur body ground but the chasis/motor ground.. normally attached on the starter through bolt or alt.

take a booster cable and run one lead one from the body, then to the engine, before you get in to alot of tracing, sounds like you lost your chasssis ground

I had some time to work on it in the light today, found a ground melted off for the tail lights under the rear bumper. Lights and signals work fine now, but both signal lights in the dash are still lit up when in gear, must be another ground I'm missing.
Another odd thing happened, my clicky starter seemed to have fixed itself.:)
Thanks for the help guys.
