I acquired a 87 sami with 3.73 gears and 33" tires, 1.3L with Weber carb. Needless to say, it is a real dog. I don't know the original tire size, but I assume it is around 27 inches. I think that means my final drive changed about 33 percent. To fix this, I thought about diff gearing, but then also started thinking about t-case gearing. I see some companys offering t-case gears with high gear reduction of 12-20 percent. I'm wondering if just swapping t-case gears to get the 20 percent high range reduction would be sufficient. I'm wondering about the strength of those gears. Anyone have any opinion?

It's great to be a Florida Gator!

throw some 5.12"s in her and call it done for now.then find a 1.6 trac/kick with wiring and ecm.that would be the way to go.:D
