Need some quick help. I put a pony carb on. There are 2 inlets for thew gas line at the front of the carb. Which one do I put the fuel line to? or do I have to have gas going to both? Need my car to run right away and I'm kinda screwed..Any help is appreciated....:(

Well I got it running with the pony carb and can't get it running right. Put my old one back on. Tightened everything on the carb checked all vacuum lines, adjusted the valves so it doesn't sound like plane engine from WWI:D and seems to idle steady now...go figure. I musta had a vacuum leak or somethin was loose on the carb.

I also have not run a pony carb for a while.
But when i did i ran a return line off the second fuel line.
If you get a chance to look at a pony you will see that there is no fuel pressure regulator, I don't think the pony carbs needle and seat / float assembaly is very good a holding back presurized fuel.
If i can remember corectly one of the fuel lines was smaller, i drilled it out slightly larger. I ran a low pressure 12v pump and once the carb had a return line the the truck ran better and my fuel milage increased.
Now the truck is EFI and i'll never go back.

I can't believe it almost 2007 and I'm driving something with a carb again as a daily driver :D Well it seems to be running ok now since I tightened up all the screws on the carb. I have most of the stuff disconnected on the carb and plugged except the distrubutor advance. It seems to like it this way now. The choke works and it idles smoother than it ever did. Could also be that I adjusted the valves. They were making a racket. Thanks for the quick replys. Anyone want to trade a Sammy carb for a pony carb? :)

Ok this is mental torture... I forgot how much I hate carbs...I had the stock carb running and idleing lke a new car last night. Today it went right back to the way it was before. Idleing up and down and all over. Just can't seem to get it steady. It was such a pleasure to drive last night...Anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit or a "known" good running carb?

I've got two in the back of my truck, plus the one under the hood is getting its ass ripped out within two weeks, let me know if you want them.

Do any of them run smoothly? Why is it getting it's "ass ripped out"? :boot: :D The cheapest I could find a rebuild kit was 60 bucks from the dealership. There's a place in Australia that sells a kit for 30 Canadian though.
In case anyone else needs a kit here's the link to a good page on Aisin carburators...http://moose.ca/~slowzuki/slowzuki/powertrain/Fuel/Aisin_Carb/aisin.htm
Here is the link to the Australian store that sells the Aisin car kit for $30 canadian...Look under carb rebuild kits...Model 90-18.... http://www.nardek.com.au/
I took mine off AGAIN...and took it apart. took the jets out and mixture needle and float jet. tryed to gently make the rubber float jet smooth again...same for the brass idle mixture jet if that's what it's called. There was some dirt in the fuel bowl...not much but cleaned the whole thing with carb cleaner. Made sure all the passages were free of crap. Put it back on and idles smooth as silk now...:D Adjusted the cold and hot idle screws and choke. Seems to be good as gold now.
It's no wonder it it ran like crap and the original motor was bagged...I got the thing and there was no engine air cleaner!:yike How long did they drive it like that? HHHmmmmm... At any rate this nightmare of a Zuk is slowly getting sorted out...
