Well I ve finnally started, got the front taken out today, and the new front half in,just need a couple more u-bolts,and it will be together. Thanks to Lil'Beast, for the complete set,it is making the swap very simple. Also picked up a set of 32's from Scott(a quiet member of this board),and he threw in some driveshaft spacers, and a complete zook front (minus brakes)...so,acouple more weeks,(gotta wait for ei. checks),and with some luck,I'll be done.

Well got some progress(slow and steady:D ).The front is completely done, and got one tire mounted on a rim,for a trial fit. There was a concern that it might hit the springs, but only hits at close to full turn-oh well I'll just go over instead of around!Tonight I pulled the rear, and installed the new rear, all thats left is the driveshaft.I have to get the spacers drilled, then I can bolt it up.I've got a good friend, who is getting the tires mounted on the rims for free.Hope to take it for a test drive(to the mall) next week. When I do ,Ill get some pics,to prove that it exists.

edit,I know this shouldn't be in the wanted section, but I wanted to keep it with the original post,if you want it moved go for it.

Ok,I've got the driveshaft in,and off the jack stands...
took it around the block, and everything feels ok.I can feel the axle wraping up,and the shocks bottom out on every bump.Got to the first stop,and....oh shit,no rear brakes:yike
well she goes, just doesn't stop!,oh well it doesn't go fast anyways right?.Anyway, just need to get the 32''s mounted, and put in a brake line-T,cut the front bumper tubes off bleed the brakes, and hmmmm, something else... Oh well just feels good to get it out of the garage.
no whinnin' here!!!!!

I'll get some pics as soon as I get the 32''s on,and the brakes done. You are absolutely correct about needing a track bar,and I should have asked more questions, before I went ahead and did it.Thanks to Depot,I now know that I should have done something with my springs BEFORE I did this, now I have a spoa with flat springs and no flex, and shocks that bottom out on a crack in the pavement oh well live and learn

the shocks are not a big deal.
did you reuse the stock ones and mount them to the flipped spring plates?
if so you will have to make a mount lower on the axle in the front......same in the rear or move the top mount inward.
no flex?,,,,,,must be limmeted by the socks i hope. you sould have pretty good flex with the spoa. flat spring are not always a bad thing. mine a flat. its springs shaped like a s you have to worry about.

When I ran 31s I always ran a flat spring. Excess lift is redundant.

Well I finally took it out for the first time on the 32's,and other than the shocks bottoming out,its good.Went to the mall, and climbed a few snowbanks, and got my first scare as the front tire's hit the springs at not quite full lock.Have to say it rides a lot better than it used to. Hope to drop the lower shock mounts at the rear tomorrow, but my daughter started running a high fever tonight (100%:yike ),so I'll have to wait to see if it breaks tomorrow or not.I hope it does,it's her birthday on sunday, and she has a lot planned for the weekend,I would hate to see her special day ruined by being sick, she is turning 9. :uk:

Ok I went up to Raglan(ya thats right I went to friggin'Raglan,'cause its close, where have you been lately?),and it seems to be running well.I have to say I am going to learn how to drive all over again!.On the recent topic of gears versus wheelspeed,I found out the differences, from a tired sj410,to what I have now and like the fact that I now have more of both!Anyway,I am going for a ride tomorrow with stixman, and we will hopefully have some pics...see ya then.
