This is Ms. VanBdan here, I don't think too many people can talk me into a weekend of Weel'in. A day trip would be fine. I had a blast last summer with the gals and guys at the Raglan pit and so did the little one. I have bigger plans for my weekend. For starters my daughter's big dance Yearend show is on the 28th, promptly Sunday Morning I am hooking the trailer up and disappearing until I have to be back at work on Wednesday. Mr VanBdan, I am sure will be attending, yearend show or not. Weel'in, this computer are what he lives for other than the quiet intimate evenings that don't come often enough between work and the dance competitions. Thank you for your thoughts, but I will go camping at a campsite near by sometime this summer.

Cheers all and enjoy!!!!:) :)

Lets see, my Daily driver is a J33P TJ, my wife is a J33P Chick, my Suzuki has less and less Suzuki in it every year. I hold no ill will to my fellow four wheeler just because he doesn't drive a Suzuki, and as Terry can prove, I even have been known to partake in the J33P Wave :-) We have to drop this Higher than mighty attitude towards non Suzuki owners, as it only makes us worse than they are.

Sure everyone likes to pick on the "underdog" But its all a joke.
So prove them wrong and wheel your rig to your best ability. But that doesn't give you a reason to bad mouth a J33P owner. If he is an Ass Hole, then it doesn't matter what he drive. Assholes come in all brands.

I'm not trying to start anything, just finish it.

can't we all just get along

I'm torn on this subject, on one hand i've owned many ****'s from CJ-2A's to CJ-8's and loved them all. They look great, perform quite well and are easily adaptable. On the other hand I feel that Zuk's are better suited for me because im a broke d*ck mofo and on Zuk's u can do more for less. ****'s have been the sh*t for years, and now more and more are looking to Zuk's to fufill thier needs, thats great, its awesome, it's about time. To damn the **** owners because they've damned everything that isnt a **** "you wouldnt understand" is simply falling into the same pattern. When "****er's" heckle me i simply point to thier wallet and suggest we compare. Most "****er's" however love to come over and oggle at the Zuk's in appreciation for another 4wheel enthisuasts rig.

We should lay off the ****'s and concentrate on havin fun, they're no diff from us. No better no worse, and if i ever come across a **** stuck in mud and in need of help... I'll help him BURY IT WHERE IT SITS!!!!!!

It was a joke, I gotta point these things out...thats why they have me here.

I agree with you though, having an elitist attitude because you drive a certain type of vehicle is wrong, no one is above common sense and what I call “smart wheeling”.

Now does this mean that if an elitist group or event where this type of machine or that type of machine is only allowed is wrong too? Because I heard of this thing called Suzican…..

Sorry I had too…..blame my environment.

Sorry for the rant. I guess I am just used to the BS J33P attirude on ORC. As far as SuziCan. It was warrented. J33P has Jamboree's, and we have SuziCan. The Ottawa Valley Offroaders is 40% J33P, 40 % Suzuki, and 20 % mix of Ford Chev and Toy. Since the J33P's have thier's, I decided that we needed ours too.

A Sami on 235's kicked my butt all over the place at Under the Northern Lights. Mind you the guy was nuts and had no concern for his truck, but seriously, the trails are fine (power line and Quinn (Quinn is sort of questionable, MudLite will answer that one better)) for a stock Sami. Taz, well, only the hardcore folks are hitting it, but the ride in is fun.

I am in on the taz run for sure!!! and i thnk that alot of us will probally want to stick together again this year Mudlite. Do you see a problem with that. We probally would like a trail guide but i think that we are a capable enough group to run on our own with a quick point in the right direction to the trail head if you fall short of guides. Right now i am assuming that we all wanna run together and just want to get an idea if the same few that ran together last year could this year. Plus a few extra newbies that we have grown to love over the last year.
Just throwing a couple ideas out there. To answer you original question about the tuesday. I have no plans and would love to stay the extra day but only my Zuk will let me know for sure. And the guy that ownes the trailer that i will be on:fa:
About the road driving part. I am fully insured and plated for the road and right now i know that there a few of us that are not (probally the majorityof us) Would it be legal and safe to parade a bunch of unplated trucks or uninsured vehicles? I know that some will take that chance (AHEM) Depot per say but would you mind waiting for others to flat tow or trailer thier trucks there on the givin day that they chose?

I have no problem waiting for guys to unload trailers. I would sooner be safe than sorry. Last year no one was looking . This year we are under the watchfull eye of the MNR. They want to do this like a whole in the head, but still have to follow through with what the boss wants. We are giving them a Security Bond to run the trails , plus a 7.00 per truck road fax to the Municipality. We have to keep cool, not tear the roads up, no speeding on the ashault, keep out of swampy areas on the hydro line that are vissbile to the main access road....etc. I wanna show them that we are not a problem to them. The PJ Party went off without a hitch, but then, we knew all the drivers. I only know half of the group this year, and that means everyone that was there last year will be my security patrol. If you see someone horsing around , let them know. We have to be especially nice to the local fish and hunt camps. Stop and wave as they go by. Stop and chat at the camps and ask how the fishing is going. We want possitive reports back to the MNR saying what an outsatnding group of wheelers we are. All it takes is one problem to spoil it for next year. This year has to go over as smooth as last year. I know you guys will understand and support this.

Mud Lite
June 17th, 2003, 09:27 AM
I am not concerned with the Quinn and Vanacker power lines. I am concerned with traveling to Taz if the truck isn't plated. If you towed it up, you can tow it to Taz. FrankenZuk isn't plated, but my chum will be towing it.

I want things to be as leagal as possible. I hope we all understand. This will not affect the fun aspect of the weekend.

Personally i would not take the chance on running anywhere without insurance. even quads and dirt bikes need to be insured, an plated as off-high-way vehicles.
I belive construction equipment, farm equipment and road maintenacne equipment are the only vehicles that can run on the road without plates of some sort. ( i used to drive a vactor....the big sewer suckers, they were considered road maintencane equiment......sort of funny really it was a ford lousiville with a big cat diesel and a ten speed roadranger, i got to run coloured diesel and i could not be charged for hitting stuff....long story)

god forbid you have an accident or hurt someone.
Ask you insurance company if they will "hold coverage" for the weekend.
My insurance broker will "hold coverage" from me for up to 5 days with no cost to me. I also have a house and two other vehicles, that stay insured all year.
As far as plates..........come on a trip permit is less than twenty bucks.
I'll be running a trip permit because i refuse to pay the whole year when my sticker is due in september.
So everytime i take the truck out i get a ten-day and insurance for 5 days.

under the highway traffic act (so on any road or road allowance) you need valid plates and insurance.
no insurance = $5000 fine
no plates, or sticker expired = fine of $90 plus if the cop is in a bad mood they can impound your truck.

I'm not trying to but a downer on things but with a little planning you could make sure everthing is legal.

I think this was only for trail riding steve. I was only allowing some to ride without plates on the trails. I will refuse them to drive it on the roads. Anyone who is unplated will have a trailer or will be flat towing to the trail head. the only trail we will require plates for is Taz. All other trails are on unmaintained roads. Depending on who you talk to car insurance is invalid for offroading anyway. Some insurance companies will try anything to get out of paying. But lets not go down this road.

cool.....i will use it to renew.

as for the licence issue. I can ask a couple cops at work if you like, they are in the same building as me and halton region is too far away to cause any curious cops to come looking.

fyi.......when we were at raglan for food friday we (a group of zooks) were stopped by the durham regional police. The road was an unmaintained road alowance but they stated that because it was a road allowance it fell under the highway traffic act. They were checking for booze and valid plates/iunsurance.
The were fining dritbikes and quads for riding an offhighway vehicle on a "road" i thought that was a low move since the "road" was nothing more that a trail through the bush.
I have a talk with the cops on monday and see what they think.
I still think that a phone call to the insurance company and ten day are a good idea, but hey i really don't care either way.

Actually Quads are now legal to drive on the road except for highways (400 series its legal on hwy 21 i know we got pulled over) as long as u have it plated and insured.
