Hey there I was woundering if anyone has a driveline brake system hooked up to there zook.I was pulled over on the weekend and unbelivable I passed with only not haveing an emergency brake so I am building my own and have 5 days to do it , so if anyone has an idea PLEASE fill me in or they will pull my plates and I will SOL.I have an idea of useing a brake sytem from a go-cart which is mechanical disc and fab it onto my output shaft where my rear drive shaft bolts to the output shaft by drilling out the four holes and milling the neck off where the key way holds it on the drive shaft of the go-cart,then cut the center out to mate it to the lip of the output shaft and getting longer bolts to compisate for the thickness of the rotor. The machineing won't be hard to do but if there is an easier way let me know. Then all I have to do is just make a braket to hold the calipar, then use my arm lever between the seats for the stock brakes and use the cable that is supplied and put a pulley or bushing to guide the cable being the calipar is not parralle with the pull arm to compinsate for the 90 degree which by pulling the arm up pulls the cable and mechanical arm on the calipar to engage brake. Now if anyone gets this message remember the clock is ticking I have only 3 days left to build.

Can't find a 84 or older T case aywhere? Just install it and you are good to go.
Are you disk on the back or still drum? Why not use the stock set up?

Chada boy you think too much. sounds like all that fabbing to re-invent the wheel.
Like the boys said an 84 t-case will do. I have most of the part numbers for all the little thingy's that go inside. Cable is $60.00 at the dealer and it is a dealer item only i think they can get it witin a couple of days. But like mudslug said if you have drums in the rear already 9 times outta 10 it is just the adjuster arm that is seized. the one that comes out of the back of the drum and has the spring attached to it. Look closely you will see a pin with a cotter pin through it . Thats where it usually jams up.
Get the hammer , Vise grips and lots of wd40 and have at her.
Or if you are disc brakes it would take less time to slap a new set of drums and old axles back on to get you by until you do the drum brake and swap it all back!!!
Good luck.

Hey Choda, you can probably buy the whole t-case drum brake setup for less than a few hundred bucks. Or yes........ you can spend countless hours building one from the ground up

Hey guys thanks for the reply but I got it done last night and it's sweet.I do have drums on the back but they are modified and run only off my main brakes when I slam hard they kick in as like four wheel lock up.The fabricating was a slice turns out I went with a disc brake 7 inch diam from Bicknell race products it was only $25 dollars and there was two choices I had for brakes mechanical with spring return or standard pressure type like with brake fluid price was $40-$90 for the fluid type. The disc was a perfect fit with a little drilling to over size the holes to match the 4 hole on the out put shaft where the drive shaft meets. What I did was put the disc right betwwen the two peices and put longer bolts with ni-locks to secure it.Then useing a card board template I figured out how to fabricate my bracket I attached it by bolts to my cross member between the frame which is right about where the back seat is or was. Then useing my stock lever which was already there I used a peice of solid round stock about 1/2" and heated up each end them pressed it flat so I could drill some hole. This let me conect the lever to the arm on the brake calibar so there is no slack or play then bolted it all together and tried it, worked like a champ and cost me $65 dollars plus my time and now I have a great driveline brake system I will take some pics to show you all now my worrys are over and thanks for the replies.Oh one more thing do you guys have that wreck check where you are all from?
