I'd like to see what your set up looks like. I'd like to flip mine to get some lift but then my tie rods will be like hitting the leaf spring. Do i really need a dropped pitman arm? Or can i put longer shackles to lower the leaf from the frame to clear it.

You need a drop pitman to correct your steering geometry. In order to get your springs off your tie rod you have to re-arch and add a leaf after you go spoa. I'll have a drop pitman arm for sale before calaboogie. They are about 160.00 brand new. I do not need the steering box either and do not want to pull the damn thing off so you can have that too. If you are going to calaboogie we can meet there with it for the swap meet.

Cool. If i can get a Pontiac sunbird engine i can get my car on the road. But untill then i'd like to keep the sammi stock. When is calaboogie?

How much is it to get leafs re-arched?

Calaboogie is on the July first weekend and it really depends on where you go and who you talk to to get you springs re-arched. Can't even remember how much mine cost last year. But in all fairness if you wanna keep it stock you can just re-arch and add a leaf (all four corners) get an inch or two of lift not to mention fresh springs and not really have to worry about a pitman arm. it is just when you go a spoa lift that gives you 4.5 to 5.5 inches of lift that you need one.

nice pic. Are those longer shackels? They look like an 1-2 longer. And is that the stock pitman arm?

Longer shackles, stock pitman arm and dropped drag link, steers fine no bump steer at all and as u can see doesnt seem to hinder articulation massively

That there steering you saw in the pic Dxray was the breeze crossover steering. I have the inside scoop on a new design that is bieng made for zooks. The basic version would be what you saw there and then the high end ("this is the shit) type of steering is the Butterfly system. It takes both the drag link and the Tie rod (take a close look at yours. 5 bucks says that it is bent already) above the springs. It will come with a new tie rod and drag link with new rod ends. They are beefier and greasable as well. Another good thing about this system is if you do not want to spend the cash on the new rod ends only you can scrounge up a few Already bent suzi rod ends and screw it in to the same bar. (metric threads will be the same.) so if you get screwed on the trail oand bust one your buddy wheels out to the trailer removes his and brings one back to save the day.

You can see the ste up at calaboogie. Put your orders in now cause they are sweeet
