I think I'm pretty much done on the zook, as done as I'm gonna be for this year anyway. I just completed a full rear roll cage, a hoop to match the main hoop and installed two rear seats and belts. Look pretty good. won't get picks, see you at suzican.

I only have two days off work before leaving, still have to pack the RV full of tools and food and beer. hope she flat tows for 8 hours ok.

Good luck to all at getting everything done

My list is still way too long!

Just pulled the engine apart to see why it was leaking oil everywhere.
The valve cover gasket was shot so no big deal but the sludge inside the top-end was just unimaginable! Also the two screws that hold the rocker shaft on #3 were loose inside. One of them got munched and won't thread back in! Cam lobe for #4 took a shit-kicking. The bottom end was leaking too so I pulled the timing cover off and it was just full of oil. The timing belt looks new but it's oil-soaked so I can't trust it. The timing cover has been worn through not only by the crank pulley but also the water pump pulley. The oil pump had been put in with what appears to be an incomplete used gasket and RTV but it didn't hold up and that's why there was spooge all over the place. I'm going to have to drop the pan and get new gaskets and I was expecting that but the cam did it for me. I've got no choice to pull the engine from the 93 parts truck and toss it in my 4dr. I'll rebuild this engine later.

Why move the battery in?

I found a trailer I can borrow, (i was gonna flat tow) BUT last year i hammered in a 6" lift hitch with a sledge and it if in there solid. I got new rear leafs in the RV and now that hitch is too tall for the trailer, its great for tow bar. So I'm going to try and get that hitch out to put in a level one so I can use the borrowed trailer. I only have one day off before we leave so if it don't come out easy, I'll still be flat towing. Fawk it what ever gets us there.

OK, She's certified.:D Going to go register it and plate it tomorrow. I started on the stereo (because a 5 hour trip to Calabogie without it is going to drive me nuts!) while Simon laid some fiberglass to smooth out the body lines.:brows:
We're painting it tomorrow night so it will just be a quickie.

I still have to throw some parts at it (cap, rotor, plugs and wires) and I have a leaking slip yoke. Not sure if I can get that seal tomorrow or Wednesday though.

I was shooting to leave by Thursday afternoon and stay at my bro-in-law's in Orleans. Might have to leave Friday morning now.

I took it for a small ride around the block and in the trails to flex it out (IFS with coil spacers flex??? ) and everything was ok but she wasn't shifting right. The vacuum modulator wasn't connected so I did that but haven't tested it yet. I also see a second connector on top of the t-case. Black two wire and it's not the 4x4 indicator light because it is plugged in and working. Anybody know what it could be? It could be coming off the tranny too (auto) but I haven't had a chance to really look.

Yeah my bro-in-law lives in Orleans. I know it's an hour and a half past but he has some stuff I need to get off of him. Friday will be an easy day if all I have to do is get up, buy groceries, ice and beer and then make it to Calabogie to set up camp.:D

Lots of guys come in from Orleans, maybe one of them would deliver for you, depending what it is. Hell, if he wants to deliver to central Ottawa I'll bring it for you.
Show up Thursday night and get a prime spot, by the sounds of it it may be slim pickings by Friday. LoL

Loco
June 26th, 2007, 03:53 PM
I'll be back and forth to Orleans a couple of times this week before coming to Suzican. If what you need picking up is not too big I'd be more than happy to grab it for you.
