If you read my other thread you know I have been having 4wd problems and now the hubs are shot. I've taken them apart cleaned them, greased them, and they are still not working. No big deal they can be replaced. I was just wondering what type of hubs would be best for my Sammy. The 411 on my rig and what it will be used for.
Stock everything for now!
7" Trailblazer bolton lift from Rocky Road (installed soon)
31x12.50 or 32x11.50 (open for suggestion on tires and size)
frequently driven but not daily
all types of terrain from sand to red clay
it is my hunting rig but must be able to be driven on road 100+ miles
Any help and suggestions on the build would be great.
Thanks for your time

Im using the 33x1350x15 micky t baja claws and they work well on and off the road. ive had my ride upto 140kph now and still smooth. im not running spring over (cuz im different) so you'll have to get someone elses opinion on that but SPOA's do work well from what ive seen.
take your time when doing any custom work. measure twice cut once.

i run 33x12.5x15 TSL Thornibrds everyday and they are a pretty good daily driver tire. The noise is low compared to other tires i have heard on the highway, and so far in deep mud they are great. They really evacute the mud from the tread. In the snow they are OK 4wd drive is a must if the snow is deep, otherise just take it easy on the go pedal
A friend ran Yokohama Geolander MTs on his j*eep and they wehre good to (he daily drove and they lasted 4ish years) but more road noise and held onto more mud than my TSLs.
If you are going ot be driving long sisatnces for gods sake get those shiiiitttty stock seats outta there. I put 89 Honda CRX Si seats in. MUCH BETTER

I would suggest a mud terrain tire like a BFG, Kumho or Dunlop if you are doing that many miles with it. They will ride fairly smooth, do well in mud/rocks, and wear longer than a really aggressive tread.

Do both the hubs have the springs in them ? If so are they working properly when you turn the lock ? Probably just the springs. Of they were seized the steel ring that holds the spring may be bent/damaged.

I found a set of stock hubs and just replaced mine. The springs were shot and the entire internal assembly was rusted. Apparently my zook was a concrete queen in her former life. Not any more...put it through the paces yesterday found the exhauste leak, under water, as I crossed a set of double creeks...more to come.
