I was wondering what you thought about welding two steering arms together for a cross over steering set up for my toy axel swap. They do it on the Pirate board but the don't have vehicle saftey inspections to go trough every year.

I know it works but I dont like it, if you have an annual inspection dont do it, it'll fail for sure dude.
If it's 100% trail rig, go ahead.

I concur, they don't allow any welded parts in the steering components for saftey inspections. Buy a bolt on kit.

Thats great...... but it still wont save your ass if DOT pulls you over, could be a less than ideal situation.

If somehow you do get caught and they find out it was your own inspection they may revoke your privilages. I would get another person to saftey it so your not on the line. Hopefully he won't even notice that it is not factory if you do it nicely.

Depot bring her down here to N.S. I'll saftey it :D It's only good here. I guess what I want to know will welding the cast steel arms set up any stress in the metal that I should be concerned about. Is there any blank prebent cross over steering arms around. The one I bought from Sidekick nut works perfect. If I had one bof those arms without the kingpin I could adapt it to the toy housing.
