whats the best gear ratio to run toys with 35's?? I'd like to be able to wheel and then drive on the highway and have been getting mixed opinions about gear set ups....

What have you got upstream of the axles?

Stock t-case, Id say 5.29
geared case, maybe 4.88

35" is alot of tire for a 4 banger on the highway. You'll need to be high in the RPMs to keep safe.

35's and highway just don't mix! (IMHO) at least on a zook. but technically Steve is right, 5.29's w/o the case is a bit higher than stock but a good compensation for the extra weight the lil 1.3 or 1.6 can handle. same goes for the 4.88 with the 12% hi reduction.

I don't think you'll like 35's on stock axles for very long. if I were in your shoes I'd go 33-34's with the toy's, stock 4.11 gearing and a baby lobster or 4.1.

beef it up before you build it up. you'll spend more time wheeling and less time fixing.
