I am toying with the idea of a SAS swap for my 4 door sidekick.
Any thougths?
I would like to go toyota axles, coils on all four corners, lift for 32"s and skidplate the hell out of the bottom. If i can clear it I'll slide over it. Not going to build a hard core truck, but someting that is well rounded.
I have been thinking of leaves up front just to keep it simple.
my reason for doing this is the samurai is getting a little small, the family is getting larger and i'm getting older.
four doors, auto, and air would be nice.
yes chris i know you have yours ready to complete the swap,,,,,,,,,might be interested later this spring, but for know i find myself with the need for a new project and i have a couple laying around.

Killer idea GearHead, but with the fab u'd have to do with the leafs up front, would it not be even easier just to grab a few older ford radius arms and coil the front??? cherokee coil seem to be perfect for the back <shrugs> all that fab just fer leafs when a few radius arms and a panhard bar yer done, no steerin bindage either

radis arm would be the way i would go. Just some linkage issues to sort out. i like the ford radis arm idea and yes the front would probable have a panhard bar.
On the other hand leafs defianatly keep it simple, the fab work should be about the same i think. just more steel.
i know that the coild would give me a better ride, but i could add or remove leafs as needed..........hmmmm
well I'll have some time to think about it, too cold to work outside for a while.
