I wanted to use a zuk front d-shaft on the zuk, but it will bind if i dont angle up the 3rd member. So how much is to much of an angle? If i go to high will the bearing next to the flange end be affected due to loss of oil?or is the oil mechanically pumped to it somehow?? It will need to be angled up alot maybe 35 deg ++ or will i need to have a toy d-shaft modded to fit. How much longer is a rear toy shaft compared to a front toy. I have a spare front toy d-shaft but its about 3 - 4 inches short.

the more u lift ur pinion the more u will starve that bearing.. ce la vie.. its easy enough to change. id be more worried bout ur caster/camber whichever one it is.. u turn that much ur gonna have to cut/turn ur knuckles unless u like grader steering

Thanks Depot
Yea i thougth it would be more difficult than that so i guess i will be back under it tomorrow freezin my @$$ off again. Everthing so frickin frosty to handle. A toy D-shaft is so heavy with all that extra metal i though it would be hard on the bearings on the t-case, and wanted to stick with a sami up front:( . Anyone have any problems with the toy d-shaft putting to much stress on the the T-case. I just put alot of time and coin into the case and dont want to screw it up.

have no worries about the weight of your drive shafts, mine are prolly heavier than most u have ever seen due to heavy pto splines,.250 thick wall tubing and 1310 u-joints....what is very important is your bearing lubrication and proper steering angles for proper driving characteristics.I would suggest using toy shafts re done at a drive line shop, since u already have toy axles bolted in toy shafts will also require some rat adapters for the t-case flanges...
not to mention I re-geared my tase with 6.5:1 more than three years ago.....giver...

Thanks for the info:beer: , i have the adapters already, but i dont need to use them the toy D-shafts (which are in great shape) bolt right up to the 88 t-case and i have the toy axels. So all i need to do now is order a spacer and the front issue will be solved or use the the adapters for spacers using longer bolts . Now i need to chop down the rear shaft to make it fit. Thanks again for th e info.
