Hey is there anyway that we could get a close up pic and maybe a description of how you mated the output of the kik tranny, to the flange of the sammy case?
Thanks.

MLC
February 24th, 2004, 05:06 PM
that was last years build ....i might be able to get a better pic .KAC made the connecter. he used the slip shaft from the kick cut the ears of then trued the end he the took a old sj yoke machined a hole in it so he could press the slip into the yoke then welded the while they were in the press of coarse we discoverd a better way to do it .. we should of took the slip and welded it to a piece of 1/2 in or 3/4 plate then machine a new yoke ....... mine had a bad wobble in but we got good now ...probly will make one with the plate steal later

i got the rear started this weekend ...made the stock lower arms longer ..going to get rid of that stupid controll arm link and go with a three link with a pan hard bar.....

Why Square tubbing for the arms? Are you doing the same arm on both sides? What are you useing at the frame end for a mount? What are you using for a pan hard?

MLC
March 8th, 2004, 08:52 PM
i used the square tube because it was easy to get ..not many places to get steel in this neck of the woods .... it is a little easier to work with both arms are the same we did the ford thing on the rear of the arms . the pan hard rod is made of square tube it;s 1 1/2

MLC
March 8th, 2004, 08:55 PM
do you think it will work ... can you see any unforseen problems .. some in put would be great from the king of the rocks ...

You may find that the double trussed arms won't flex with a darn. What you might want to do is keep the trussed arm on the passender side and use a single pivoted arm on the drivers side. One side will hold the axles, while the other lets it articulate.

thanks for the advice....

Why panhard if its a 3-link ?

MLC
March 10th, 2004, 09:42 PM
the top link is only going to have 2 pivet pionts one on the top of the rear housing and one on the cross member that holds the second tcase not enough room for a triangle type top link.... i can't think of any other way to do it .......

MLC
March 14th, 2004, 08:34 PM
i got the back pretty much done this weekend .... some new shock mounts and some more welding should do it ..i made my top link adjustable.(i think it's a good idea for setting the pinion angle.. can't hurt )
