Very clean install. Nothing looks hacked and everything looks like it was supposed to be there. Good job.

Thanks for the link, Kac. Nice install. The cleaned up engine compartment makes mine look even worse now! I was thinking a similar stack for my exhaust, but I was looking at running it down underneath then the up the side of the targa - and embedding it into the targa a bit, with some air-gap to keep it from roasting the inner part, and then a heat-sheild like yours on the outside. I have been pretty happy with no muffler - the turbo seems to be plenty of muffler on it's own. I was also thinking of making the tip break-away if I bump it on a tree.

edit: P.S. - what it the chrome thingy sticking up through the hood? Intake? Blowoff valve?

that would be the intake ....but if you take chrome piece off you can use it to boil hot dogs in it ..............it is a pot from princess auto

:D :ro: :D
Now - why is the intake way low, and the exhaust way high?
My snorkel looks like your exhaust, KAC< and my exhaust is way low, out the back.

Hey KAC! Nice! :)
Being a TDI (Beetle) driver myself, I'm trying to get hubby to do the swap on his Zook to the TD. I don't think I can sway him though.
Nice work! Have you posted on TDIClub.com also? Or is there another TD Zook around? I saw a post on there about one of these.

Yea, the dancing banana rocks.
I'd say that if you are going to diesel your samurai with a VW product, you should look for an INDUSTRIAL TDI. They have no computer, but still are a TDI. You can find them around the US and Canada. They are NOT legal for street use, but then who'd know.
