I tore into my 84 and 88 t-casees today(work is slow) got the low side gear installed in the 84 t-case. Now the real work begins. I've got to go to the father-in- laws to use his lathe to split up some gears. Atleast I get to use my brothers NEW MILLER 210 MIG to stick the halves back together:D :D

how are you measuring for run-out? Don't forget to drill the oil pick-up back in.

I pressed the gears together tonite. There should not be much run out and yes there will be oil holes.Hopfully weld it tomorrow nite.I'll try to get some pics of it before I weld it-don't laugh though.

Here's the gear. I machined down pressed a sleeve in it and also put a 7/8 bolt throughg it for good luck.

That has got to be one of the ugliest welds i've ever seen Fullload do! :D :D might want to grind down the globs a bit to try to get the gear a bit balanced.. i wouldnt want to see u lose a perfectly good set of gears cause a severly imbalanced shaft/gear blew out a bearing.

just a thought
