These axles will only be under my '90 for a max of 2 yrs, (going with Toys after these), and I wanna know how the extend the vents on them along with the t-case.

i took a 1/8 th pipe tap , and taped the vent with it, and threaded an air line barb into it. now i have something to attach the hose or tube to with out having something that is 1/2 inch or bigger to fit over the vent.when i say vent, i mean after the cap has been vise gripped off!!!

did u make sure to clean out any filings that may have dropped inside? they'd cook ur bearings in a hurry if u dont.

Yeah, I like the sound of the threading bit, did you seal the threads? Oh yeah, Depot, what's worse, water or metal filings in the diff????

i did the threading when i had the axles out and was cleaning up the housing, i did put a little pipe sealant on, but it is not that much of a concern.i used silicon hose from one of those kits you can buy with the different sized hoses, and they come in pretty colours too. if you use rubber, it will eventually get hard, where the silicon will not,and it is not affected by oil !!!!
i used a breathers from air tooling machines, it has a plastic base and has some other breathable material at the end. it doesn't seem to let anything in.......so far.i made them long enough to go in side the cab area. you could do the same for the tranny and t case.

Metal filings by a long shot!!!! water and gear oil dont mix too good and when they do, U'll know it by the foam but it wont smoke ur gears or bearings.. water will rust out ur bearings specially if it sits but metal filings will chew ur bearings out faster than u can learn to spell my last name
