Have you read this article in The Star?

http://www.thestar.com/News/GTA/article/424405/

This is damning towards any ORV use in Ontario.

The club I am involved with (Durham 4x4) took the time and energy to help organize a major cleanup of the East Cross Forest last June in an effort to save a trail as well as show the comunity that we are not gun toting rednecks who do oil changes on trail.
The unfortunate part is that we have all been lumped into the group of careless people who could give a damn about our enviroment or laws in this province.
It's a sad day when an article in a news paper hurts us all.

It is to bad they labeled us all bad as I had a lot of fun growing up out there that’s for sure. That was one of the best parts about drum having a play land like that in your backyard and I'm sure lol it probably kept me from getting in trouble form doing other stuff when I a kid. Grate loss for us all !!!!!!!!

That whole article is that of one person who can't see past the bad apple of the batch. I have personally used that forest since I was a child and for a point here goes. The "old baldy hill" was always bald at the top, hense it's nick name. It wasn't always as gently sloped thuogh, was very steep at one time. I remember when u coldn't stay on a tobbogan because the speed was crazy. People have been dumping illigaly in that area for years, along the dirt roads and yes in the forest aswell. I have my doubts that any person in a vehicle or on a atv would do an oil change in the woods. I have personaly seen stolen vehicles and careless ignorant people smash and bash caars and trucks through places an atv or built rig wouldn't fit, and this is the small group that ruined it all for everyone else. We are not all like that, multi use trail systems are atainable but conservation meens exemption to anything motorized. Because of this a large trail loop was lost to the snowmobiling group who had used this property for longer than my mother in law can remember whos father was an original founder of the Longsault snowmobile club. That being said u know how long this property has been unofficialy available to the public who ventured out to enjoy some great outdoors in Ontaio. The people who govern "concervation properties" in this area seem very against motorized use, therefore exempting offroad enthusiasts from enjoying what should rightfully be for ALL to enjoy. Private orv parks are likely going to become the only place for us to enjoy, and yes I'm alittle bitter.

Makeshift "Jiffy Lube". That's crazy, most wheelers I know change their oil and do repairs at home. On top of that, maintain there vehicles better than most.
