Greens and Forest Loop?? I will be up that way during the 24 so bringing George wouldn't be an issue.

OVO is holding the Calabogie Highlands PJ Party May 24 Sarg. See OVO's site for details.

Im still undecided. For one, I'd like to stay away from drunken yahoos. PJ Party is only 3hrs + for me but we'll be there for Suzican. Greens is occupied by Howard and a bunch of **** boys every May24. Minden will be loaded with **** boys as well (prolly alot of milder trucks). Forset Loop ??? Im wonderin how much traffic will be there. At least the 'Loop' should weed out some people cuz of the difficulty. Coopers Falls will be a zoo as well. Still thinkin........

Gotta think about the prize factor. We have just about the same amount of stuff at the PJ party was we do for SuziCan, just not all Suzi related. And we're working on some bigger prizes that will really be an attraction if they come through.
:)

I can appreciate the prize factor but im more into variety. Id like something 'new' if possible, or at least not run the trails back to back. So..... is this why there is an entry fee ? Because of prizes ? It may be one of the reasons I'm not in a club.

All the prizes are donated I believe. Fee's are to cover insurance as far as I know. Our President would be best to answer that question.

I am hoping to have my rig done before May24 ...If so I will attend wherever you guys are going.

Both the PJ Party and SuziCan have a minimal cover charge. The 25 Dollars barley covers Insurance, trails fees, Dash Plaques, maps ( PJ Party) and administrative costs. We have made minimal money in the Past at the PJ Party and what money we make at SuziCan has gone into a kitty for the Land Use agreement Bond. All the rest will go back into making SuziCan a better event each year. This year we have some event trinkets to give away and the cost of covering the shitters. Have a look at what other events charge, we are definately not in this to make money. We will be selling T-shirts this year at cost. Have a look at the next issue of Canadian 4WD for a teaser:D

I do hope to be able to attend but seeing as my Zuk is in about 5000 pieces now (literally) I might not .
When is the cut-off for signing up ?
If I get good progress on it I may get it out before June.I hope so man this waiting for the weather and parts is killing me slowly.I also have only 1 car until I get it going so the wife is a little more open minded in how much time is "enough" for one day .LOL

my point is I liked Ardbeg. We discussed in that thread about driving farther in so as to get away from the drunken yahoo's.I thought it was a good I dea,and at the time several other people posted up saying the same. Also like you said, the loop would weed out some people because of the difficulty-I am probably one of those people.
Just my two cents, but can I pay ya later,'cause I'm flatbroke.

thinking of checking out the power lines up near Madawaska, just south of Algonquin Park , its halfway between Whitney and Barrys Bay

There is a fair stretch of road with lots of rock. i,ll have a better look at it in the spring, you can use the old railbed which runs alongside the Madawaska river to access some campsites

i may be up for ardbeg. Probably will only spend one night under the stars thougt. Family will be at the cottage in dunchurch, I will be there early, maybe thursday. I might go in and scout for some better camping areas, beyond that banned areas.
I'll know closer to may what my plan is.

Shizaat that would be cool... then I could bring a couple of Kayaks... Are you talking the Upper, Middle or Lower Mad? There's a couple of little water falls on the Lower Mad... Also, The Mad will not be empty on a long weekend... It'll be packed with Yakers

Anyone wanna learn to kayak if we go along there... could be an evening funny...:D

I've heard the same thing, but i really dont want to plan a weekend far from home to possibly run good/bad trails that nobody knows where & how. If anybody knows anyone that wheels in this area maybe they'd like to be a trail guide or something, but time is ticking and im getting older so where we going??

Hey Guys,
I'm going to Moon River with a bunch of guys from National 4WD Club and SOXC. Should be good. We'll be camping at the bridge entrance/exit. Some of us are leaving thursday night and the rest are going up friday morn. I don't know any times yet but I'll post as soon as I know.

Look for an 89 Suki on tsl swampers with General Lee style turbine rims......White. That's me.

i won't make it out on the 24.....family crap to do.
I do hope to make a run to ardbeg some short weekend thought, probably an overnighter, and the camping ban will not be in effect since it is not a long weekend.

We (Scotty and me) did the loop backwards again, kinda interesting in the rain and mud but doable. There was a few spots where George was going in full attack mode slinging mud and rock about 30 feet straight up but mostly it was a crawl fest.

When we got to the top we went down the far back side past the old watch station foundations. About half way down I noticed I collapsed a spring and the steering was rubbing on the u bolts which made steering fun but I was able to drive the rest of the day and I got George home safe and sound.

Scotty will be sending me the PIC's today I hope and i'll post em up.

Oh Fullload, nice flop.......welcome to the club

I don't remember an old watch station foundation? Did you guys go into the big "bowl" part of it or stay on the main trail?

Thanks it was my first flop. It has been my turn anyway. everyone else that i have ever wheeled with done it but i held off as long as i could to avoid one but i guess it was my time thats all.
I'm just happy that i was alright. Cage it is for me, and pipe it will be. But i'll save that for the other thread later.

Big bowl??

We ran up the steep hill most people come down on the back side but when we got to the top we went over past the foundations....um...if your right at the top facing north its on your right off in the bush a wee bit....not too many people have seen the trail, full goat style off in the bush.

We were there Sunday about noon until 5 or so.

Mudslug, i hope we are talking about the same place. i think that we have to get together and do it at the same time. Leave T.O together and just do it. That way we can stop guessing whats what.
Look in the pic of my Flop. Does that look familiar? Even if you go to the old thread of "thanksgiving weekend" when me beast and depot went, does any of that look familiar?
Where i flopped is the long steep drop in that guides you between two trees.

On sunday we were still at the campsite until about 1:00pm -2:00pm. You had to have drivin past us. Grasshopper and Hoppin were camped next to the big white Cabover (Hino flatbed) parked on the left just passed where it turns to a dirt road.

That help any?
