    Toyota axle swap

Hi I just swapped the sammy axles(my sammy is an 87) for toy axles out of an 85 pickup with 4 30 gear ratios. I used the front dc driveshaft for the rear, had it shortened and used the flange from the transfer case from a 91 sidekick for the sammy transfer case. Anyways I've got bad vibes I mean bad vibes,I've got the rear pinion pointed at the tranfer case pinion and still have bad vibes. I noticed the amount of axle wrap is pretty bad,I still have the stock springs, I've searched around and can't find a good drawing on how to make a traction bar. I live in Matheson Ontario and suzuki parts are like a needle in a hay stack,so I have to fab everything. If anyone has answers for me I'd appreciate it.

    Re: Toyota axle swap

I had my shaft cut By a driveline shop in mississauga and had the intention of getting it balanced. They said before they will balance the shaft it has to be rebuilt. I freaked when they said it was going to cost over $350.00. I said all of the u-joints were in good standing what would need to be re-built. They said the CV part of the shaft must be able to hold it's own weight and mine failed miserably.
I was in a rush so they cut it down to what i needed and off i went. I have vibes from about 30 kph to 40 or so then they go away. When i get a chance i will re-build it and send it back for balancing.
Remember when you have spring wrap your pinion will raise therfore causing vibes as well.
Get your u-joints changed and the spring and ball in the middle and send it back to get balanced and that should do it.

I have not done it yet as it's still "on the list" for this winter.
Zooks are alot like women. If you don't service them once in a while they won't let you go wheeling

Besides other vehicles,Nothing "blue" will ever be attached to my suzuki!

bad u-joint, c/v joint, blown bearing, slop in drive shaft slip splines, etc etc. Get under ur truck and start reefing on the parts to see whats loose.

K I don't think its the driveshaft i think its the axle wrap thats causing it cause it pretty bad wrap before i swapped the axles and the driveshaft seems tight on all joints. So i'm gonna need to build a traction bar now I have no idea what I'm gonna need to make it so If anyone has built one that works good holla at me with specs and details plz thanx.

Maybe too obvious, but are any of the t-case mounts bad?
